How I keep my blonde hair blonde

Having naturally blonde hair is great, but dull weather and pollution means my once-platinum locks often end up a brassy, yellow shade. I don't want to get into the hassle and cost of having to dye or lighten my hair so I rely on products specifically made to brighten blonde hair to keep my colour fresh.

Silver and purple shampoos are by far one of the most effective things for blonde hair and I can see the results after just one wash.

One of my favourites is PRO:VOKE Touch of Silver Shampoo. The range of products is created for blonde, platinum, white and grey hair and the shampoo has a violet pigment to neutralise brassy tones and instantly brighten and refresh.

I've been a fan of  John Frieda haircare for a long time and they have a variety of collections for different hair colours. One of their latest launches is the Sheer Blonde Brilliantly Brighter range. This has an illuminating formula to make blonde hair brighter and more reflective. It is a great value range and one I would recommend for all blondes!

I also recently came across System Professional haircare. They have a special silver shampoo for both natural and coloured blonde hair. It's a little more pricey at £18.25 for a bottle but delivers professional results. Unlike other shampoos which are more of a violet colour this has blue pigments to even out colour tones and minimise brassiness.
