A Guide to St Kitts - Fall in Love With the Caribbean

When I think of the Caribbean, usually the likes of Jamaica, Antigua and Barbados come to mind. But there are SO many other islands to discover, many of which I hadn't even heard of until last year. In December I was lucky enough to go to St. Kitts with my work, so decided to put together a guide to this little gem of a destination!

St Kitts is twinned with the island of Nevis and jointly they are known as the nation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. While most Caribbean islands portray white, sandy beaches, St. Kitts is totally unique as it is known for rainforests, lush green mountains and beaches of white, grey and even black sands.

Of course one of the main reasons for visiting the Caribbean is the amazing weather (I went in December and wrote a post on why I now want to go away every Winter!)

For those who don't know about St. Kitts, here is your whistle stop guide...

My 2018 Reading List

I'm a little delayed posting this but one of my New Year's Resolutions every year is to try and read more books.

I am currently reading Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. a captivating book that follows three women who are all at a crossroads. Think school-mum scandals; ex-husbands, second wives, mother and children troubles. It has since been turned into an award winning series starring Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon so I'm excited to give it a read!

Another fictional book on my list includes How to Stop Time, by Matt Haig. It seems a little Benjamin Button-esque - about a man called Tom Hazard who looks 41-years-old but has in fact been alive for centuries. He has to continuously change his identity to stay alive and cannot fall in love.

One book that I read at the start of the year is The Wrong Knickers by Bryony Gordon. For any 20-something female living in London who is struggling with the pressures of adulting you will 100% relate to this book! I read every page nodding my head and laughing at Bryony's escapades.

I'm all about motivational and inspirational books this year and just did a mammoth Amazon order to fill my shelves with books to help me smash this year! I have already purchased #GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso after seeing it all over the blogosphere!

I have also got How to be an Overnight Success by by Maria Hatzistefanis, the head of Rodial. I'm a huge fan of Rodial skincare and makeup, when the brand launched its cult 'snake' serum, the press quickly called the business an 'overnight success'. But Maria has been building the brand for 18 years from scratch in her bedroom.

What's on your reading list this year?

Affordable relaxation with Spa Experience

Spa treatments and pamper days are the perfect way to forget the daily grind and treat yourself to some much-needed relaxation.

There is often an idea that spa days come with a hefty price tag or involve trekking halfway across the country to get there, but there are a number of spas right on the capital’s doorstep to suit every taste and budget.

Spa Experience is a concept by Better leisure centres, making spa days accessible and affordable for everyone. They provide affordable luxury in a welcoming and friendly environment, with locations across the UK in London, Belfast, Hertfordshire, Somerset and Surrey.

They offer typical spa treatments like facials, massage, hammam scrubs, waxing, manicures and pedicures.

The £3.30 mascara that’s changed my life

When a beauty brand brings out a new mascara, it needs to do some pretty wondrous things to get my seal approval. Nothing disappoints me more than forking out around £18-£20 on a new mascara just to be left with clumpy lashes.

I’ve tried pretty much every new mascara launch but really don’t see the point in forking out big bucks for them. Especially since seeing the launch of Benefit’s new BadGal Bang – which in my opinion is completely over-hyped! Mascaras really shouldn’t cost a fortune.

If like me you’ve gone from brand to brand trying to find a decent one you can stick with, you will understand the struggles of trying to track down a must have. Is it so difficult to find one that delivers volume, length and colour without smudging?!

Which is why when a couple of friends started raving about a mascara from Wilko that only cost around £3 I HAD to find out more.
