Let's talk about...

Hair removal isn't something often talked about in the blogger world - despite the fact it's a lot of us seem to do (or choose not to - feminism and all that) on a regular basis. I can remember from a young age feling embarassed about my hairy arms and legs and wanting to do something about it as soon as possible. But like most teens I was told the same thing by my mum - once you start it will grow back even thicker and you won't be able to stop!

I think I finally began tackling leg hair aged 14. My first purchase was depilatory hair removal cream. Queue a stinky bathroom, cream everywhere and sitting around like a wally for ages wondering when three minutes was up and why my legs felt like they were burning.

I soon realised this was too much of a faff and stuck to good old shaving. I prefer to buy a razor with interchangeable heads and just replace the razor blades as and when necessary. When I'm travelling or on the go I take disposable razor with me. Dorco razors are very affordable and they also offer a subscription service.

When it comes to my eyebrows I've been lucky to have good naturally shaped brows that don't get too out of hand. I went through a bit of an obsession with plucking them aged 17, which I now majorly regret and wish for them to grow back thicker! Occasionally I will get the fair hairs in between my eyebrows waxed at a salon.

When it comes to my bikini line I have started using Veet's Sensitive Precision Beauty Styler. This is a battery operated trimmer with interchangeable heads suitable for eyebrows, bikini line and underarms.

I have also heard about the benefits of laser hair removal. Laser hair removal works by targeting hair follicles with laser light, which stops it from producing further hairs. The laser delivers an intense beam of light, which is absorbed by the hair follicle whilst the surrounding tissue remains unaffected. Pulse Light Clinic in Liverpool Street, London, offer the service and you can find out more via their website here.
