The Best of Supermarket Beauty

With the amount of beauty stores and websites to browse these days, supermarkets may be the last place you expect to pick up a new beauty buy. Now with many supermarkets bringing out their own ranges of luxury products, adding a budget caviar night cream or luxury body scrub may not be a last-minute trolley dash but actually a find worth shouting about.

I've always loved browsing the beauty aisles in supermarkets and discovering a bargain buy, but supermarket-own brands have been dominating headlines this year. Whether it's due to tighter budgets or the rise of the high street, a lot of people seem to be turning away from high-end price tags and embracing bargain brands.

Many cheaper brands use exactly the same ingredients and we have seen the likes of Primark, Aldi and M&S' own beauty ranges do exceptionally well this year.

Here are a few of my favourite Supermarket beauty products you can pick up with your weekly shop:

Sainsbury's - Mandara Spa: Mandara Spa is a range of luxury products that makes you feel like you're on an exotic spa day - without the price tag. It is inspired by natural ingredients and the range consists of four collections: Tropical Blooms, Honeymilk Dream, Amber Heaven, and Island Paradise. Ingredients include frangipani, sandalwood, ginseng, and lime, which remind me a lot of the Elemis products. They are ultimately indulgent and relaxing!

Tesco - Soaper Duper: A refreshing, fun and fruity range of products. Soaper Duper is made using 92% natural ingredients and packaged up in recycled plastic. It isn't as high end as some other ranges but for a brand whose ethos is all about doing good you feel happy just buying it and popping it on your bathroom shelf! Products include a body wash, body butter, scrub and a hand wash in fruity scents like Lemon, Passion Fruit, Ginger and Fig. They also support WaterAid and Clean The World!

Asda - NSpa:  I've loved Asda's NSpa range for a long time but the products just keep getting better and better as new collections are introduced. The Fruit Extracts is a fun and fruity body range that smells just like The Body Shop at a fraction of the price. The Beauty Rituals includes classic skincare produuts like a Micellar Cleaning Gel and Hot Cloth Cleanser that is a dupe of Liz Earle.

They have also just introduced an Expert range which is an anti-ageing range aged at mature skin. The packaging is ultra sophisticated and help reduce wrinkles and improve skin firmness. As well as a rejuvenating serum and day & night cream there's also an electronic facial cleansing brush!

Aldi - Lacura: Aldi made headlines this year after it released an exfoliating face mask that was an exact dupe for the famous Glamglow tingling mask. I just had to try it out and despite the fact I'd never tried any of Aldi's own brand beauty products I was absolutely hooked and had to try out everything they had to offer. Products in the Lacura range include a Power Serum, Neck & Decollete cream, Cream Mousse moisturiser and 3 Minute Peeling Mask all at bargain prices. If you haven't tried it out yet get down to your nearest Aldi and fill up your basket! You'll be surprised with the results.
