Summer Hair Saviours

I have to admit I'm pretty lazy when it comes to looking after my hair; I always run some hair oil through the ends after washing it but that's about as far as it goes. However, there's something about summer that always makes me step my game up a bit and start using more products to style my haie and try to keep my locks in tip top condition.

Some of the products I've been loving recently include the 72 Hair range. Their shampoo and conditioners smell amazing and keep my hair smooth and shiny. Paul Mitchell has also recently released an 'On The Horizon' range, which is a Boho-inspired collection all about letting your hair down and being free! It features these super-cute limited edition pastel hairbrushes (there's an orange sculpting brush which is great for travel and a mint green paddle brush) and products to create festival-ready looks at home. I've been using the Super Skinny serum to tame frizz and add shine. It also speeds up drying time if you apply it to the ends of wet hair.

For styling, I love Phil Smith Coconut Water Texture Spray to create beach waves. This adds style without drying hair out or damaging it, like a salt water spray can do, and instead protects and adds moisture.

Being a natural blonde I love the summer time as my hair will often go lighter and get its shine back, whereas it can go brassy in the winter months. I like to use products specifically for blonde hair to keep it as bright as possible. I love the Joico Blonde Life range and they have a special mask which I'm trying out and popping on every couple of weeks.

If I'm feeling a little lazy or want to ditch the straightners I'll pop my hair into a french plait (which is ideal as it means my hair will often be curly the next day). For anyone that struggles plaiting their own hair Scunci have created this Easy Plait tool that holds the sections of hair for you  - you simply slide pieces of hair into the tool, saving arm ache!

Finally, I don't know how I've ever gone without using Philip Kingsley's Elasticizer! It's one of those cult beauty products but they've just released a new coconut edition for the summer. If you haven't used this before it's a treatment that you use before shampooing hair. It deeply conditions and adds moisture to restore strength and shine. I personally love using treatments on my hair before I wash it as I find some conditioning treatments can weigh down hair or leave it feeling greasy if it's the last step in your haircare routine.
