New Rimmel Insta Selfie Collection

I use the odd product from Rimmel but I've never been as excited for an entire collection launching as when their new #InstaSelfie range dropped through my letter box! I've been stuck in a bit of a makeup rut recently and haven't bothered trying out anything new or experimenting with contouring and colour correcting, so when I started rifling through the products I couldn't wait to spend some time giving everything a go and trying out different looks.

This range is all about helping you to create the perfect selife by getting a picture perfect look. It contains everything you need for correcting, concealing, contouring and illuminating.

After trying out the range for a few weeks my favourite product is the#Insta Fix & Matte Powder. This is a translucent powder and the detail in the compact itself is very cute, with little hashtags '#' embedded into the powder. This is by far one of the best setting powders I've used and it is a bargain at just £4.99. It holds makeup, mattifies skin all day, reduces shine and reduces oil while perfecting skin.

This little colour correcting palette is also extremely cute and comes in a handy compact with a mirror and three creamy, concealing colours; orange for dark circles, green to cover redness and lilac for dull areas. I apply this with a concealer brush or a small beauty blender and just dab away!

The range also has these contour kits that come in three different shades (light, medium and dark), each with a highlight shade, a concealer and a contour shade. On the back of the small compact there is a handy diagram which shows you exactly where to apply everything. I know fair-skinned people will often stray away from contouring but the light shade of this is in fact VERY light (almost too light for me and I'm very pale), so this will be the ideal palette for them. Here I have photographed the medium shade.

Another new addition which I thought was a great idea were these duo contour sticks. For the contour-phobes like me who don't have a clue where to start this makes application quick and easy. It is a double-ended highlight and contour stick for cheekbones, nose and cupid bow. The creamy application means you don't need separate brushes and it takes up minimal room in your makeup bag.

This range has definitely got me excited about makeup application again and helped me up my selfie game!
