As per usual I am pretty late to the beauty trends and I have only recently started wearing lip liner with my lipstick. I previously thought my mum was the only person who wore lip liner but, after the Kylie Jenner lip phenomenon, it seems pretty much every girl does. Lip liner is useful for adding definition to the lips and prevents lipstick from feathering. It can also double up as a matte lip colour too.
Most lipsticks now come with matching lip liner shades, but if not it is pretty easy to mix and match various shades and brands. Here are some of my current favourites...
This lipstick is probably my most over-used one, hence why it looks a little battered (apologies!) It is L'oreal Color Riche Lipstick in the shade 256 Blush Fever (£6.99). A soft rose pink that is creamy and moisturising with a slight shimmer. I team it with L'Oreal Color Riche lipliner in 302 Bois de Rose (£3.99).
If you haven't already tried Urban Decay's Vice Lipsticks (where've you been?!) they are pretty impressive..there are 100 different shades available and 50 matching lipliners too. The latest pink lipstick from the Vice range I have added to my collection is 'PDA' - a bright fuschia pink that is perfect for evening wear.
The cold weather causes havoc with my lips, which is why I love Rodial Glamstick's (£14) as they are tinted lip butters with hyaluronic acid - hello moisture! I have the shade Revenge which is a bright fuschia pink and the most pigmented out of all the Rodial Glamsticks. I team it with The Body Shop Lip Definer (£8) in Blushing Pink, a soft baby pink.
It's hard to define this shade from Clinique's Pop Lip Colour & Primer range but I'd say it's a muted coral with a warm tone. Like the Rodial Glamstick, these lipsticks are hugely moisturising. I team it with Clinique Quickliner in Cayenne, a warm orangey tone.
My two favourite lipsticks for a completely nude shade are Smashbox Be Legendary in Famous (£17.50) or the slightly cheaper Sleek True Colour in Liquer (£4.99). I also pair this with Body Shop lip liner in Beech.
A new lip range I am obsessed with is Rodial's Suede Lips (£22). These lip crayons are highly pigmented with a matte finish. All the shades are very on trend for winter and I have 'Big Apple', a deep pink shade. I team it with Rodial's XXL lip liner (£19) in Pink Espresso.
