Aloha! I am a huge fan of mineral make-up after buying the Bare Minerals starter kit, and then various other Bare Minerals products (you can see a recent haul here). So when I was given the opportunity to try out a Sheer Cover kit, I was excited to see how it compared. The Sheer Cover Studio Introductory Kit costs £29.99 and is available in three shades - light, medium or dark. I chose the light kit,
It contains: Sheer Cover Studio Perfect Shade mineral foundation, conceal and brighten trio, lengthening mascara, lash extending fibres, sun-kissed bronzing minerals and a foundation brush, blush brush and concealer brush.
So first up, the brushes. I personally thought the foundation brush was far too small. You need to buff the powder foundation into the skin and this didn't really do the job so it would be worth buying a larger brush! The concealer brush was perfect though.
Next is the foundation itself. It contains light-reflecting minerals and soothing botanicals (such as green tea) to balance the complexion. Sheer Cover states that the foundation will suit all skin tones and create a flawless complexion. After buffing it into my skin my skin tone was evened out and the coverage was very natural - but I had to apply a couple of extra layers over blemishes.
The bronzing block was perfect at illuminating my skin and added a little shimmer. You can use the shades individually or swirl them all together. It comes out very light so is perfect for anyone with pale skin that is scared of using bronzer!
The conceal and brighten trio contains two creamy concealers and an eye-brightener. They all had a lovely soft texture that blended well into the skin although I thought the darker shade was slightly too yellow for my skin. I used this under my eyes and it covered up bags without being dry or cakey.
Next up was the product I was most intrigued by - the last extending fibres. You apply this in between coats of mascara to lengthen lashes.
Overall I was impressed with the kit but I would wear this make-up on a day I was going for a natural look as it doesn't provide much coverage.
