Benefit Go Tropicoral Lip and Cheek set

Hello, happy Saturday lovelies! Today's review is on this lovely Benefit set which I was given as a present for my birthday recently. The Benefit Go Tropicoral gift set (£25.50).

The set contains mini versions of Cha Cha Tint, High Beam, Coralista face powder and Coralista lip gloss, plus tips and tricks how-to guide that shows you how to apply each product. I am a huge fan of the Coralista blush anyway and the lip gloss and Cha Cha ting are perfect additions.

Cha cha tint is a coral coloured cheek and lip tint which is perfect for summer evenings. The whole kit gives your skin a nice, healthy glow. And the best bit is once all the products have run out you can take the make-up tray out and use the box for storing things in!

My daily skincare routine

Daytime

Every morning I wash my face with either Loreal Skin Perfection soothing gel cream wash or Clarins Extra-Comfrt Anti-Pollution cleansing cream depending on the weather and the current condition of my skin. I have dry and sensitive skin so I like to perk it up first thing in the morning. Once I have had a shower and washed my face I use Paul & Joe Refreshing Skin Toner, this comes in a beautiful bottle so looks lovely in my bathroom and also have an amazing orange scent. It is very soothing on my skin and helps keep it soft too. While my skin is still slightly damp from the toner I use Kiehl's Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate followed by Garnier Moisture Match light softening cream.

Evening

In the evening I will remove my makeup with either Clinique take the day off cleansing milk or Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. A lot of people raved about Micellar solutions but after using the Avene one I wasn't impressed - it left my skin very sticky - and was put off using them. However, I recently picked up the Garnier version and am really pleased with it. I only have to use one cotton pad and it removes all the makeup from my face and eyes. Once I have removed my makeup I wash my face with Origins Checks and Balances frothy face wash, which is great for combination skin as it hydrates dry patches while combating oily areas too. Then I use a few drops of Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate and follow it with Kiehl's Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Cream.

Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster

Clarins' latest facial tanning product gives you a made to measure self tan. It creates an even, natural glow in a single daily step by adding to your regularly day or night cream.

You simply mix three drops of the golden glow booster to your moisturiser to create a customisable radiant tan. You can alter the level of tan to your desired level by reducing the amount of drops you use.

I regularly use fake tan but finds it fades from my face after about a day because of the amount of products I use and from washing it twice a day! Clarins' golden glow booster is perfect for maintaining a tan on my face and instantly makes my skin look radiant. I have been using it followed by the Liquid Bronze Self Tanning lotion to keep my face looking healthy and glowing.

If you are afraid to use fake tan on your face this is perfect as it creates a gradual, subtle tan. I am in love with this product and use it every day. It costs £18.

Clarisonic Mia 2 Limited Edition Hollywood Lights Collection

I have heard some amazing things about Clarisonics and have been debating getting one for a long time but there were two factors putting me off. The first was mainly the price, secondly, I recently attended a skincare event where I was told that young people are currently too harsh on their skin and we shouldn't be scrubbing our skin daily but using creamy, moisturising products instead. That said, I knew there had to be so much hype around Clarisonics for a reason and when something is generally that expensive it has to be good quality. So I caved and bought the Carisonic Mia 2 Hollywood Lights brush. For those familiar with Clarisonic, it is essentially the same as Mia 2 but the handle is translucent and it lights up when you charge it and use it.

The Clarisonic is designed to cleanse skin six times better than using your hands alone. When you switch it on the brush head moves back and forth and gently extracts impurities out of your skin. It has a built-in timer that pauses momentarily and beeps when it is time to move on to another part of the face, providing you with a one-minute guided cleanse: 20 seconds on the forehead, 20 seconds on the nose and chin and 10 seconds on each cheek. Plus it is completely waterproof you can use it in the bath or shower.

Inside the box there is the Clarisonic Mia 2, a travel case, a mini Clarisonic Gel Cleanser and a charger. The only slightly annoying thing is that, as it is designed for travel and on the go use, the charger is a shaving plug so will you have to buy a shaver adaptor to be able to charge it in a normal plug socket. I picked one up from Tesco for £2 though so it's not too much of a big deal.

The handle has a power button - which you can use to pause the cycle when you are using it, and switches off automatically after one minute - and two different speed settings: low and normal, which can be altered depending on how sensitive your skin is.

I was so excited when my Clarisonic arrived in the post and couldn't wait to use it. I let it charge for 24 hours before my first use (the lights blink on and off while it was charging then stay solid once it is fully charged) then gave it a whizz this morning! You can use it with any cleanser but I decided to use it with the Clarisonic mini cleanser provided. I wet my skin and the brush, put the cleanser onto my face then used the Clarisonic.

It felt extremely gentle on my face and didn't feel like it was scrubbing at all but still felt effective at smoothing away any dry patches. After the first use my skin does looks a lot healthier already and I found my serum and moisturiser sunk into my skin a lot easier and are a lot more effective now. I have particularly bad skin on my chin and around my mouth but my blemishes are already starting to look less visible. The Clarisonic is meant to be gentle enough to use twice daily but I think I will only use it every couple of days for now and see how I get on with it.

Clarisonic Mia 2 Hollywood Lights Sonic Skin Cleansing Brush is a limited edition device, available in Selfridges or Clarisonic.co.uk, priced at £125 each. It is available in pink, purple or green.

Well I can see why everyone raves about Clarisonics so much! I have struggled with my skin for years but after using this just once it is already starting to look and feel better, I can't wait to use this as part of my regular skincare routine. Yes they are expensive but I'd say they are definitely worth it and are a great investment. Plus they come with a two-year warranty just in case it breaks. The mini size and protective case makes it perfect for travelling so I will be able to take it on holiday with me and to the gym too.

LW Lauren's Way Rapid Tan Solution 60.

'Rapid tans' are fast becoming popular and the experts at LW tan are the latest to launch are fast developing tanner, Solution 60, which aims to give you a gorgeous colour in as little as 60 minutes.

The express self tan is specifically formulated to provide a rapid golden tan, allowing you to choose your shade. The tan can be left on for 60 minutes before showering for a light tan or for 2-3 hours for a medium-dark shade.

I have tried pretty much every brand of fake tan now and have tried some fast developing self tans too, including Fake Bake's 60 minute tan which I am a huge fan of. Admittedly I was initially a little put off of trying Lauren's Way tan simply because I was worried I would look too 'Essex' and the tan would be extremely orange. But I recently tried the LW Darker than Dark Glam Tan and loved it so I was excited to give this a go!

I bought the spray formula as I have very dry skin and find mousse formulas can make my skin even worse. The spray bottle is a non-aerosal spray tan and is very easy to apply. The left picture shows my very pale arm before applying the tan and the right shows it directly after application. The guide colour is quite dark but once it is washed off it leaves a lovely natural colour underneath. I tried leaving it on for an hour and washing it off and it a left a very subtle colour. If you prefer a darker tan I'd recommend leaving it on longer as the majority of the colour guide does get washed away. I sometimes use it in the evening before going to bed and wash it off in the morning for best results.

The solution states it is designed for all skin tones and will last up to five days. It is available in either a mousse or a spray and both cost £19.95 each.

Even more summer swimear - By Caprice bikinis

I have a bit of a swimwear obsession. Despite the fact that I never go swimming and probably only get the opportunity to wear a bikini about once a year. Yet still every year the prospect of some summer sunshine gets a little too much and I go out and buy a different bikini for every day of the summer. In seven weeks time I will be getting off to Turkey for ten days and I'm pretty sure I have far too many bikinis. The latest one I purchased was this red triangle set from By Caprice Swim.

This particular set from the latest summer range - the Harmonia bikini - cost £28 for the top and £19 for the bottoms so was pretty good value for a good value bikini. I often see the By Caprice swimwear and lingerie lines on ASOS and sometimes I've found some of the swimwear a bit too adventurous but this bikini is really subtle and will be perfect for trips to the beach. I much prefer halterneck style bikini tops as I am very small busted and the trim is a nice added detail.

Skincare especially for gym-goers - Pretty Athletic

Pretty Athletic is the first skincare brand designed for female fitness enthusiasts. With products that help to reduce redness and rehydrate, the range leaves your post-workout skin looking and feeling fabulous!

Pretty Athletic was created by a lawyer who found herself returning to her office after a morning workout looking hot and sweaty. Her usual skincare products didn't do the trick and she noticed there was very little on the market in terms of specific sports skincare, aside from foot spray and muscle rub, to cool and sooth the skin after exercise.

Each product in the range has been designed to help restore the skin - whether your concern is hot, sweaty skin prone to redness or breakouts following gym sessions or dry, dehydrated skin after exercising outdoors and frequent showering. All of the Pretty Athletic products contain a blend of plant oils and botanical extracts and ingredients include aloe vera, for its soothing properties, rosehip oil, for nourishing benefits and witch hazel, to tighten the pores.

The range includes Cool Down Purifying Facial Cleanser (£16.50), Perfect Balance Calming Facial Moisturiser (£22.00), Hydrating Shield Intensive Moisture Balm (£20), Radiant Health Nourishing Body Moisturiser (£18) and Instant Refresh Exfoliating Shower Gel (£12.50).

I try to go to the gym around four times a week and often if I go straight from work I won't have time to remove my make-up before a workout and can suffer from breakouts after so it is important that I cleanse my skin thoroughly. Similarly if I go to the gym first thing on a Saturday morning then have to pop into town after my skin is usually very red and I can look a mess so these products will be perfect for restoring my skin. Each product is packaged in squeezy tubes so they are easy to carry around in my gym bag. I have been using the facial cleanser and body moisturiser.

The thing I love most about Pretty Athletic is, unlike other fitness ranges, it doesn't claim to assist with weight loss or promise you a flatter tummy, just to get your skin looking its best after workouts!
