Benefit HERVANA Review

I am a sucker for Benefit makeup, I love their cute packaging and high quality products, but only treat myself to something from their range every once in a while! I particularly love their range of blusher boxes and have already tried Dandelion, Coralista, 10 and Sugarbomb. The latest to add to my collection is the Hervana blusher.

Benefit describe this is as a "good karma" face powder. The blusher consists of four different shades - shell, peach, rose and berry - in a pinwheel design which you swirl together for an orchid pink colour. I'd say the shades are too small to use individually (unlike Sugarbomb) and are best used together to compliment eachother.

Like most of the Benefit blushers it isn't too highly pigmented so it gives a nice natural flush of colour. I was tempted to buy the newest Bella Bamba but after trying it in store I think it is too pigmented and comes up too brightly on my pale skin. The beige colours in this also give it a more warmer finish.

The different thing about this blusher box is that it comes with an angled brush (most come with a flat square one). This makes it a lot easier to apply it to the apples of the cheeks and blend it along the cheekbones too.

Overall I completely love this blusher. It is one of the prettiest Benefit have brought out and it gives a gorgeous subtle pinky glow, perfect for day time, and you can build it up for evening wear too.

ZARA Office City Bag Review

I was lucky enough to receive the infamous ZARA Office City bag as a birthday present from my friends. I've always been a fan of big bags and tend to carry far too much on me. This bag is probably a bit too bag to be used as a handbag so I'm saving it for when I have a "proper" job now that I've finished uni.

For those of you who haven't heard a lot about the bag before - it is great for storage. It has three zipped compartments and two expandable popper sections. The middle zipped section is padded - perfect for carrying a laptop - and there is also another small padded pocked which could fit tablet.

In one of the padded areas there is also separate storage areas for credit cards, mobile phone and loose change.

It has thick sturdy handles so you can carry the bag or there is also a detachable shoulder strap.

I absolutely love this bag and can see it taking me far into the future. For me it is the perfect work bag and I can't wait to buy another ZARA bag to use as a handbag.

The Office City bag costs £49.99 and comes in Black or Brown.  You will never be short of room! The only downside to the bag is I found the zips don't always move smoothly and can get stuck sometimes

Apivita SPF 30 Tinted Face Cream

There is nothing I hate more than putting sun cream on my face. Of course I want to protect my delicate skin but thick, greasy sun cream makes me break out in spots within seconds and stings my eyes! Luckily I've found a solution - hello Apivita Light Texture Tinted Face Cream with SPF 30.

Some moisturisers and foundations often contain SPF, but the last thing I want to do is my clog my skin with foundation when I'm on holiday and it can be hard to find the balance between protecting your skin and letting it breath.

This is a tinted face cream with SPF 30 that helps to hydrate and restore the skin's natural moisture. It contains lavender, hyaluronic acid and panthenol. It also protects against aging and enhances skin defense. Apivita replace water in their suncare range with green tea so their products act as an antioxidant to protect the skin from premature aging (getting a big thumbs up from me!)

I had never heard of the Apivita range before getting this sample at a bloggers meet up but after doing a bit of research I can't wait to try some more of their products. Apivita is a Greek skincare and cosmetics company that uses all natural ingredients.

When I squeezed a bit out onto my hands I expected it to be thick like suncream or a matte foundation but it wasn't at all. It is a really lightweight formula, similar to a BB Cream or moisturiser. It felt really lightweight on my skin while still giving coverage - which I love as it's difficult going barefaced on holiday!

I'm so glad I've found this product and will be using it in future for a day in the sun, if we ever get any! A 50ml tube costs £15.73 and you can buy it online here

Guest Post: Top 3 Night Time Skincare Treats

The lovely Sophia from Tattooed Tea Lady kindly offered to write this guest post for me all about her favourite overnight skincare products. If you haven't already checked out her blog make sure you do, I'm a huge fan of her honest and detailed posts!

Hey everyone, my name is Sophia and I run my own little blog Tattooed Tealady. I’m super passionate about beauty so that’s what predominately features over on Tattooed Tealady, but I often post lifestyle posts and some plus size fashion OOTD posts too. I’m thrilled to be guest posting for Natalie here on Floral Republic, a local Nottingham blogger like myself, and today I am going to be sharing with you my Top 3 Night Time Skincare Treats.

First up is probably my favourite eye creams of all the different brands I have tried. The Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye is incredibly soothing, intensely hydrating and leaves a soft as silk, cooled sensation on the delicate under eye skin. It’s made great improvements to the pigmentation around my eyes, ridding my dark bags and reducing the puffiness I sometimes find when I wake in the mornings. The skin around my eyes also continues to feel lovely throughout the day, I find my morning eye care products sink in better and my makeup goes on more flawlessly without any embarrassing creasing under eye concealers. I would never replace this now; it’s my Holy Grail night time eye cream. You can read my full review of the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye for more in-depth thoughts on this wonder eye product. You can find Kiehl’s in department stores, in their flagship stores and over on the Kiehl’s website. The Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye comes in a 15ml tube and sells for £24.50.

I follow the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye with the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. The partner product to the eye cream, the Midnight Recovery Concentrate has to be one of the most amazing oils I have ever used. Nothing makes my skin feel like this oil does, it is absolutely wonderful and a must-have product for any skincare addict. The Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate is paraben-free and with 99.8% naturally derived ingredients, this miracle working little oil will leave your skin feeling as smooth and soft as silk, plump, fresh and radiant and with a beautiful natural glow. With ingredients such as evening primrose, a blend of essential oils, squalane and lavender, this oil has an incredibly calming and relaxing scent; in fact it’s one of my favourite skincare scents, it’s just so soothing. I pop a couple of drops of this oil all over my skin and let it settle for a moment or two before morning on to a serum. You can read my full review of the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate for a more in-depth review. The Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate comes in a beautiful blue glass 30ml bottle and sells for £36, available on the Kiehl’s website and in-store.

My final favourite night time treat is from a brand whose products are just absolutely phenomenal, Antipodes. The Antipodes Joyous Serum Protein-Rich Night Replenish Serum* works to restore collagen in the skin, deliver natural radiance, purify and protect. It’s an oil based serum which relives tired, dry and even sensitive skins, leaving you looking radiant with a really beautiful glow. I pop a few drops of this on before my night time moisturiser and it feels lovely on the skin, not too heavy, not too light, a lovely scent of kiwi pulls through. It has Himalayan goji which delivers up to 19 amino acids which replenish protein at a cellular level, red raspberry seed oil works with New Zealand blackcurrant, a rich source of essential fats, along with hibiscus flower and kiwi oil all create a pretty powerful team working on your skin overnight. When I don’t use this serum I can see my skin feels slightly rougher in texture and dull the next day, which shows how much this beauty works. I’ve really recommend it for anyone who has lacklustre skin. Antipodes is available in department stores, on Feel Unique and the Antipodes website. The Antipodes Joyous Serum Protein-Rich Night Replenish Serum comes in a real apothecary feel glass 30ml bottle with pipette and sells for £24.95 (its £36 on the Feel Unique website)

I hope you have enjoyed my guest post on my Top 3 Night Time Skincare Treats. If you decide to give any of these a go or have any recommendations for your favourite night time skincare treats that you think I might like you can tweet me @Tattooedtealady. You can also find me over on my blog at www.tattooedtealady.com Thanks Natalie for letting me guest post on Floral Republic today it’s been fab!

A huge thank you to Sophia for sharing her favourite night time products and guest posting for me!

Ginvera Green Tea Marvel Gel

I'm very excited to share this product with you today! A while ago I reviewed Ginvera's BB Cream, a brand I didn't know about until I received a sample in my Nottingham bloggers meet up goodie bag. Ginvera then contacted me thanking me for the review and said they had read through some of my skincare posts and asked if I would be interested in trying their Green Tea Exfoliating Marvel Gel, which I thought was such a lovely gesture as PRs often don't thank you or follow up from posts so it was lovely they'd actually read my blog!

Ginvera Green Tea Marvel Gel

The Marvel Gel removes dead skin cells, helping to eliminate and prevent blackheads. It stimulates the growth of new cells to prevent aging and make skin more radiant. I love natural products and am becoming more interested in skin aging prevention so couldn't wait to try it! I've heard about the benefits of Green Tea in skincare and love that this contained it.

Ginvera Green Tea Marvel Gel

It came in this lovely bag and translucent green box. It may be tempting to rip straight into the box but all the details and instructions were on it. On the side of the packaging are the 10 Benefits of the Marvel Gel:
  1. Rubs away deep layers of dead skin cells
  2. Rubs away blackheads painlessly
  3. Contracts pores for refined skin
  4. Lightens black spots and scars
  5. Removes oil seeds
  6. Regulates sebum secretion to prevent pimples
  7. Brightens dull complexion
  8. Changes dark, rough skin to smooth skin
  9. Evens out skin tone to give skin clarity
  10. Enhances quick absorption of skin care products
It almost sounds too good to be true but I was so so impressed by this product!

Ginvera Green Tea Marvel Gel
As the product is an exfoliator I was expecting it to be a scrub but it literally is a gel. You put it on to a dry face with dry fingers and massage it in. As you start you rub it in you can see parts of the gel start to form into little flakes and get to work on your skin. Straight from the first use my skin felt so much more smoother and clear and my moisturiser and makeup glided on easily after!

It is suitable to be used daily so of course I used it everyday and after about a week's use I noticed such a difference in the feel and appearance of my skin, it was a lot brighter and healthier. I cannot recommend this enough!

I'd say the only downfall of this product is that it doesn't last that long. I was using it twice daily so it only lasted me about two weeks, so if you want it to last longer I'd recommend only using it a couple of times a week.

The Marvel Gel is suitable for all skin types and I urge anyone to try it out! It costs £22 and you can buy it online here
